It’s been a month and a couple weeks since we welcomed 2017, and all I can think about is accomplishing my goals and following my dreams.
So far 2017 has been great. Last month my boyfriend surprised me with dinner and a movie at the VIP theatre. We went to see La La Land and I was totally in love (No, not because of Ryan Gosling lol). I don’t want to give too much away for those who haven’t seen it yet, but aside from it being a romantic movie, it’s about pursuing your dreams. The movie hit home with me since I’ve been wanting to steer in a different direction regarding my career and focusing on what really makes me happy and how I can go about doing that this year.
Since the movie is a musical, there is also a soundtrack available. I have to give my boyfriend credit for telling me about it. All the songs are downloaded to my Spotify and sometimes I catch myself almost breaking into song on my commute to work in the mornings. Recently, he played one of the songs to get me up and to do something when I felt unmotivated, so I guess this movie and music really does something to you. I highly recommend going to see La La Land, even if it’s to enjoy some good eye candy.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I am so happy this weekend I am here sitting on my laptop, catching up on things and not having to run around, attend birthday parties, or go house hunting.
Last weekend was an eventful and fun weekend. On Saturday we attended a birthday dinner at William’s Landing in Liberty Village. The restaurant was great and got crowded rather quickly. We were not the only party celebrating that night; half of the restaurant’s tables were filled with large groups, which was nice to see.
My boyfriend and I were in the mood to have a Piña Colada. It was so refreshing and I like anything with coconut, the only thing that was missing was a beach.
For dinner I had the cajun spiced salmon, with lentils and caponata. It was delicious. I would plan a date night at William’s Landing just so I can order this again.
After dinner views for the Birthday Girl. Such a beautiful city…
Too bad it was so cold, I would have loved to spend some time enjoying all of this.
I was really spoiled this week! I visited Toronto two days in a row. This time it was to meet an awesome group of women, which was so much fun.
I love Toronto. I love the sites, sounds, cafes and small shops. I always enjoy myself no matter what I’m doing. Sometimes it’s disappointing to call it a night and head back to suburbia, but I know I will be back in no time!
