California Dreamin’ Pt 2

Things to do En Route in California

In my recent post about my trip to SF, I didn’t mention that my trip also included a road trip to LA!?

The drive was long and of course we had to stop along the way and check into hotels to rest and be back on the road early morning. I wouldn’t change anything about my trip, we got to see so many nice places on the way to Los Angeles and now I get to share it with all of you.

After we left San Francisco we rented a car and headed to our first stop, Monterey California. Monterey is  known for their popular strip of gift shops, seafood restaurants and bars in converted factories.

Our ride for a couple of days. I mean really, when in Cali…

As soon as we started to notice the beautiful blue water along the coast we decided to stop to take some photos and stretch our legs.

We arrived in Monterey! The strip of shops and restaurants were really nice. We were eager to explore and see what Monterey was all about.

We went for a really long walk! The walkways seemed endless and we decided to keep on walking and see what was around before grabbing something to eat.

After our mini adventure, we built up an appetite and wanted to grab a bite. My boyfriend came across a Mexican restaurant nearby. El Cantaro is a Vegan Mexican restaurant with a variety of tacos, quesadillas and burritos. While I was looking through the menu, I came across so many traditional plates that I never knew about.

There were so many delicious dishes and everything looked amazing on the menu, so it was a tough decision. We decided to try a couple of different soft tacos and I have to tell you we were not disappointed! Everything is made to order, fresh and not to mention tasty. My mouth is watering just writing about it!

After dinner, we wanted to go for a longer walk and wait for the sun to set and enjoy the view and that we did!

That concludes our day in Monterey. We were back on the road the next morning bright and early.

After we left Monterey we discovered another city on the way and we wanted to stop and take a look.

Carmel-by-the-Sea is a small beach city on Monterey Peninsula. It’s known for the museums and library of the historic Carmel Mission, not to mention the beautiful shops everywhere.

I couldn’t help but grab a coffee at this small cafe as we walked around these beautiful village-like shops.

Carmel by the Sea was such a beautiful stop during our road trip to LA. We wanted to stay longer but we still had a long ways to go and we didn’t want to miss the rest of the views along the coast.

Gorda was our last stop before Los Angeles. There were so many breath taking views that I am pretty sure that day we stopped for photos I took the most pictures from any of the other days.

We thought we heard seals down below. I want to believe there were some hanging out by the rocks.

Our last and final stop was Los Angeles! I am excited to share some amazing finds that I came across with you.
